The Festival of Para-academia: Institutional Drift, Value at the Threshold was held over the weekend (December 12-14, 2025) at Balam Balam Place in Brunswick, Melbourne.

It was a wonderful event and and an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and network amongst the extra-mural or para-academic crowd.

The festival allowed attendees to build self-understanding and confidence in times of difficult institutional decomposition while exploring the possibilities for meaningful recomposition from a broad variety of perspectives. Contributions were made by the Existentialist Society, the Platonic Academy of Melbourne, Melbourne School of Continental Philosophy, Melbourne School of Literature and many others.
